Mary Lucier
Mary Lucier (born 1944, in Bucyrus, Ohio) is an American video artist. Concentrating primarily on video and installation since 1973, she has produced numerous multiple- and single-channel pieces. Lucier is celebrated for her contributions to the form of multi-monitor, multi-channel video installation. She attended Brandeis University, originally working in sculpture, photography, and performance before concentrating on video. In her work, she has explored the theme of landscape as a metaphor for loss and regeneration.
