Xueer Xu
Xueer (Yuki) Xu’s Love Hormones explores the varied emotions that romantic relationships incite. The blurry effect articulated in this series of monoprints evokes the impression of bursting with joy. Xu printed the work on a black sheet of paper to reference the mysterious and unpredictable nature of the universe, and the artist’s state of mind. The glitter holds two main points of significance as it both reflects and shines. When reflecting, it allows one to see themselves more clearly within a relationship. When shining, it is blinding, like how one might be blinded in love.
Xueer (Yuki) Xu is a fourth year undergraduate student enrolled in the UTM and Sheridan joint Art & Art History program. Xu is a Chinese student who works in print media and graphic design to develop diverse compositions of colours and shapes.
