Ilya Vidrin

Ilya Vidrin is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and researcher at the intersection of performing arts, philosophy, and interactive media. Born into a refugee family, Vidrin's work considers the complex ethics of human interaction, including the embodiment of empathy, cultural competence, and social responsibility. He completed graduate work in Human Development and Psychology at Harvard University, and a doctorate in Performing Arts at Coventry University. He has been artist-in-residence at Jacob’s Pillow, the National Parks Service, Harvard ArtLab, MIT Media Lab, AREA Gallery, New Museum (NYC), and the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston). Based in Boston, Vidrin is Assistant Professor of Creative Practice Research, Core Faculty in the Institute for Experience Robotics, and director of the Partnering Lab, an applied research initiative for investigating embodied ethics at Northeastern University.
