A state of uncertainty or unpredictability; being on the brink of collapse. This can include mental or emotional instability; job, safety, housing, or financial insecurity; and so forth. The overproduction of goods under capitalism comes at the expense of a vulnerable, expendable labour force working in precarious conditions (see Turbulence, I stood before the source). Capitalism’s commitment to infinite expansion is further complicated by its unsustainable means of production and exhaustion of finite resources, hugely exacerbating environmental precarity (see HARVEST, Logics of Sense).
