Curated by Marilyn Burgess and Gail Guthrie Valaskakis. Circulated by Presentation House Gallery, Vancouver

This exhibition presented a topography of stereotypical images of gender and race in late 19th century and early 20th century advertising images and in art. Focusing on several types, the exhibition draws out the repetition of certain imaginary figures, while presenting contrasting juxtapositions in documentary photography and contemporary artists' interventions.
